If for some reason she's not at the beach, you can probably find her in one of three cities - Kansas City, Minneapolis, or New York as these are her homes away from home.

As for her work - she's shaken up by nature - every bit of it. It's certainly a very deep and very wide thing. With nature, there's plenty of room to explore and plenty to share. It’s an entertaining venture.

It's been an interesting year so far, 2011 was something completely new for me. I didn't thought I will be back in my home town, not really sure what I was suppose to do. But then again, I'm not troubled by what may seem like inconsistencies. I applaud each new day as something entirely new. And I certainly know what goes around us as we learn to adopt new ideas and new ways of living. The year 2012 will be the culmination point for most of us. I can feel that we will not be disappointed and most important of all, let us not ever feel any sort of imaginary fear. For it is not there for us to embellish or get a hold of and make it our own.

Instead of dwelling in what ifs, feel the air, feel the sound the leaves make as you pass by inadvertently. Feel the sun's warmth on your face, on your skin, hear the birds sing and sing along with them if you wish, say hello, say goodbye, say thanks, and say "i love you" when the time comes. And then, remind yourselves what it is to be alive, to be here in this earth, to be present.

Now, I leave you with the most amazing of dreams for the year to come and I bid farewell to anything that was and everything that will no longer be with us, for it is old and torn. So long 2011, and thanks for all your marvellous teachings. May peace and love envelop you like never before.

Shoichi Aoki began documenting street fashion in Tokyo's fashionable Harajuku area in the mid 1990's when he noticed a marked change in the way young people were dressing. Rather than following European and American trends, people were customising elements of traditional Japanese dress - kimono, obi sashes and geta sandals - and combining them with handmade, secondhand and alternative designer fashion in an innovative 'DIY' approach to dressing.

In 1997 Shoichi Aoki established the monthly magazine FRUiTS, now a cult fanzine with an international following, to record and celebrate the freshness of fashion in Harajuku.

The Windowfarms Project strives to combat this issue through creative community-driven innovation. NASA is researching how to hydroponically grow food in the most unlikely setting, outer space. The windowfarms project is researching how to hydroponically grow food in another unlikely setting, the urban apartment.

A windowfarm is a vertical hydroponic systems made of recycled bottles and other common household materials. It is used indoors to grow herbs and vegetables year-round.

The Windowfarms Project connects, assists, and recruits urban dwellers. We give away free instructions that help individuals build their own vertical hydroponic systems. Using these systems they may grow some of their own food inside their inner-city apartments. Then, these new windowfarmers contribute back to the project through testing, proposing, and sharing local innovations which improve the designs over time.

Vincent Morisset’s BLA BLA is an interactive tale that explores the fundamental principles of human communication. The viewer makes the story possible: without him or her, the characters remain inert, waiting for the next interaction. Leslie Feist was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia in 1976. She relocated to Calgary at a young age and got her start playing in an all-girl punk band named Placebo. After winning a battle-of-the-bands contest, Placebo played their first gig opening for the Ramones in 1991, and for the next five years, Feist sharpened her rock & roll ways alongside her bandmates. After touring across Canada Feist left her hometown and resettled in Toronto in 1998.

Feist later bought a guitar and spent most of the time recovering from a strained voice in her basement, where she began crafting a quirky pop sound and documenting her progress with a four-track recorder. A year later, Feist was asked to join By Divine Right as the group's touring guitarist. The new gig found her playing in front of stadium crowds across North America, yet it still afforded her enough time to record and self-release her first solo album, 1999's Monarch (Lay Down Your Jeweled Head).

Never keen on staying too long in one place, Feist joined Broken Social Scene during the recording of their second album. When she wasn't touring North America and Europe with Broken Social Scene, she worked on her solo material, often traveling back and forth between Calgary, Toronto, and Paris for the recording sessions. Let It Die was soon released on the Arts & Crafts label in May 2004, and the sprightly single "Mushaboom" enjoyed airplay in Canada, France, and America. By the end of the following year, the album had earned Feist her greatest acclaim to date, and she took home two Juno Awards for her work.

Feist then set to work on her next full-length effort, recording and assembling the material in one week in a rented house near Paris. The Reminder hit shelves in the spring of 2007. The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions.

If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we will experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually, we will be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstances. Gradually we develop mental equilibrium, a balanced mind that is happy all the time, rather than an unbalanced mind that oscillates between the extremes of excitement and despondency.

If we train in meditation systematically, eventually we will be able to eradicate from our mind the delusions that are the causes of all our problems and suffering. In this way, we will come to experience a permanent inner peace, known as "liberation" or "nirvana". {source}

Well, as you can see from the title at the top, I will be holding a spiritual week here at Dreams & Rubies starting today. I feel I have neglected this part of myself on my blog and the intention was always to provide information that will help us move along effortlessly through these intense and challenging times.

I have never stopped researching about this subject. I always come across very enlightening information through articles, channelings, interviews, and videos on the internet. I am very much aware of my role in this ascension process and I plan to be more open about my doings by releasing this information with those who follow my work and are interested in finding the truth about our world and ourselves.

So, please enjoy this selection of empowering media that I will be releasing throughout the week. For some reason I feel this week to be special in some way, now that we are about to reach the end of 2011. The ends of our yearly cycles are always packed with so much energy. It will be wise for us to prepare accordingly.

This detachment is justified on a scientific level; you can never truly be close to someone because of the physical barrier that exists between two people. Famille Summerbelle was created four years ago by Anglo/French duo Simon Summerscales and Julie Marabelle. The inspiration for the business comes from the combination of family life experiences and a love of design and interior decoration. It started as a way of creating the things that we wanted for our own home.

All of our products are imagined and designed by Julie. Her background is a mix of Fine Art (which she studied in Paris), and Theatre Set Design (which she studied at St Martin's in London). It yields a balance of both artisanal skill and an understanding of dramatic backdrop.Simon is managing director, and comes from a background in advertising having worked for the world's largest independent advertising agency, Wieden + Kennedy.

Twin Sister met while playing in various bands across both coasts of Long Island throughout their teenage years, each spied on one another covetously, while Andrea Estella (vocals) and Eric Cardona (guitar, vocals) formed an intense song writing bond, around which the core of the band's lyrics and imagery are built. When their other projects fizzled, Twin Sister inevitably formed, and the band began posting demos and ideas freely to their website with remarkable consistency. Polishing their favourites, they released ‘Color Your Life’ EP in 2010 and toured relentlessly, earning praise for their raucous live show in equal measure with a torrent of fawning record reviews.

As might be implied by the title, the debut studio album ‘In Heaven’ improves on 2010's critical darling ‘Color Your Life’ EP in every possible way, showcasing the band's wildly imaginative song writing paired with flawless execution, by way of intense dedication to both musicianship and recording. Tadahiro Uesugi is a world-renowned illustrator and animator, based in his native Japan, he creates intuitive drawings of landscapes, characters, and urban scenery, with innovative uses of color and texture. His striking graphic designs as well as his inviting work in women’s fashion magazines are highly influential; his elegant illustrations convey both jazzy and classical sensibilities.

He studied fashion illustration at the Tokyo Art School’s Setsu Mode Seminar. His appreciation of France and such French artists as Moebius {Jean Giraud} is returned in kind, in that he has contributed to French Elle and designed the poster for the Japanese theatrical release of the French feature film Avenue Montaigne, among other cross-cultural works.

Uesugi has also illustrated comic books and contributed conceptual ideas to manga comics. His work has enlivened everything from the labels of wine bottles to the covers of DVDs.

Uesugi is an active participant in the fund-raising exhibitions/auctions to support the national trust Totoro Forest Foundation championed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. Chairlift

Chairlift formed in Boulder, Colorado in early 2006 to make live music for haunted houses. Frequenting the Broker Inn on the edge of town for empty late-night jazz shows, Caroline Polachek, Aaron Pfenning and Patrick Wimberly were mystified by the 1980's faux-gothic architecture, oak-cabinet aquariums, vacant dancefloors, fake trees, crystal chandeliers and dark velveteen booths. The inn provided them with the ideal setting for a new breed of pop: a place where subtle clashes blossomed into uncanny pleasures.

Relocating to Brooklyn in the summer of 2006, the trio continued on to develop a hypnotic yet tongue-in-cheek style, playing shows around Brooklyn and the Lower East Side with a thriving society of experimental pop magicians including MGMT, Yeasayer, Suckers, and Mixel Pixel.

On 2008 they released their debut album "Does You Inspire You", molding the band's space rock influences with a poppy indie aesthetic. Also on that year their song "Bruises" appeared on an iPod commercial giving them a boost in popularity. {source}

Now for 2011 they have released a 7" vinyl single with Terrible Records featuring two songs which are previewed below. Their next full album is expected to be released on 2012.

The Sketchtravel is a unique international charity art project. This red sketchbook was passed from one artist's hand to another like an Olympic torch in an artistic relay through 12 countries over 4 and half years. This traveling museum contains the personal visions of 71 exceptional illustrators, animators and comic book artists, including artists such as Bill Plympton, James Jean, Rebecca Dautremer, Glen Keane, Frederick Back, and Hayao Miyazaki. Initiated by illustrators Dice Tsutsumi (Japan) and Gerald Guerlais (France), the project will culminate in an auction of the original book in Brussels on October 17, 2011. Proceeds from the auction and royalties from the book's publication will be donated to the international literacy non-profit, Room to Read.

Let me tell you the tale of Alisia, and how she got herself into a giant pickle of a dilly one summer night. Alisia, or Poach as she's known to those around her, was an inquisitive girl, full of cheer who loved to eat her mother's stew. It was the night of the great summer festival, and Alisia was running late as she dilly-dallied by her plate. Her friends would wait no more outside her home, and headed off for the festival, leaving her alone. Poor Alisia had to run after them - and that's where things began to go horribly wrong.

Straynup, a beginner assistant or "Tamaguide," was also running late that night. "I'm late! I'm late!" he cried out as he flew towards the summer festival grounds. Straynup was under assignment, or so he believed, to receive someone called Poach from the festival. From there, he'd take Poach to his homeland, Napple World. This world apart from reality is an entry point to the Deep Dream World. It's a passing point as people make the journey from the living world to the world of the dead (presumably the happy world of the dead, as opposed to the scary one).

And so, through a misunderstanding and an odd string of events, fifteen-year-old Alisia found herself brought to this Napple World at the hands of Strainup. Of course this was a mistake, as the two discovered upon speaking with the pastor at the Napple Town church. Alisia learned that in order to return home, she would have to find the six petals of her existence which had been scattered about the land and were being guarded by powerful bosses. A whole lot more than she had been counting on when going to the festival that night. {source}

Jay Masonek is feeling down and out. Although he is a talented artist, Jay has seldom left his small town in Northern California. One day, Jay's cousins Jeff and Eric (who are also artists) visit from LA. They offer Jay the opportunity to come live with them for a period of time in Hollywood. Hoping to cheer him up, the brothers show Jay the city and take him to film castings, even though it's during the economic recession and jobs are scarce. Jay soon begins to feel the oppression of what he describes as "the grid", heightening his spiritual crises. In his desperation, Jay reaches out to God, who in the form of a dove directs and leads him toward hope and renewal. {source}

Andy Gilmore

A master of color and geometric composition, Andy Gilmore's work is often characterized as kaleidoscopic and hypnotic, though it could just as well be described as visually acoustic, his often complex arrangements referencing the scales and melodies in music.

Gilmore’s journey toward this masterful style followed a long and winding road. He characterizes his pursuit of education as a tangled web, noting the bookstores, bakeries, and theaters where he worked were of more importance than the schools he attended in pursuit of his BFA.

After finishing school, Gilmore relocated to San Clemente, California, where he began work resizing print ads. This would serve as his introduction to the computer and lay the foundation for a career in digital art and design. He currently lives and works in Rochester, New York. {source}
